The heroes of Lodoss have managed to stop the dark mage Vagnard, but the war has devastated their lands to such an extent that the survivors have no choice but to leave. The black knight Ashram, who has now risen to become their king, searches with his fleet for a new home for his people on the forbidden continent of Crystania, which is ruled by the beast gods, where they are safe from the demons and can live in peace. He is even prepared to sell his soul to the dark god Barbas to give his followers safe passage.
However, the dark elf Pirotees, who now calls herself Sheeru, refuses to accept this and tries everything to free him from the god’s influence. Even three hundred years later, amid a terrible civil war, she refuses to give up. Eventually, she meets the young prince Redon, who wants to save his murdered parents, and the two of them plunge into a battle with the cruel Barbas.

Die Helden von Lodoss haben es zwar geschafft, den dunklen Magier Vagnard aufzuhalten, aber der Krieg hat ihre Lande derart verwüstet, dass den Überlebenden nichts anderes übrig bleibt, als sie zu verlassen. Der schwarze Ritter Ashram, der inzwischen zu ihrem König aufgestiegen ist, sucht mit seiner Flotte auf dem verbotenen Kontinent Crystania, der von den Tiergöttern beherrscht wird, nach einer neuen Heimat für sein Volk, in der sie vor den Dämonen sicher sind und in Frieden leben können. Um seinen Getreuen ein sicheres Geleit zu ermöglichen, ist er schließlich sogar bereit dazu, seine Seele an den dunklen Gott Barbas zu verkaufen.
Die Dunkelelfe Pirotees, die sich inzwischen »Sheeru« nennt, möchte sich damit jedoch nicht abfinden und versucht alles, um ihn aus dem Einfluss des Gottes zu befreien. Selbst dreihundert Jahre später und inmitten eines furchtbaren Bürgerkrieges will sie nicht aufgeben. Schließlich trifft sie auf den jungen Prinzen Redon, der seine ermordeten Eltern retten will und die beiden stürzen sich gemeinsam in einen Kampf mit dem grausamen Barbas.
